    Hi There

Our client wanted to make this editable by users directly in their profiles, and no longer mapped to the Active Directory, so we tested it out.

My client want’s this also But I can’t see how to unmap the property, could you tell me how you managed this?

      Hi Mat

Sorry for the delay in replying. I needed to get onto an environment to hand to check first.

To unmap a profile property from the AD you go to Manage User Properties in the User Profile Service via Central Admin, choose to Edit the user profile property in question, then towards the bottom of the page you should see a section called “Property Mapping for Synchronization”. There you can see the mappings with a ‘Remove’ button which when pressed will remove the mapping. Then you must press OK on the page to complete the action.

      Hope this helps.

      Hi RhettKoe

This web part comes out of the box in the My Site, which is why we can’t code around this issue while using the web part.

      Best regards

      Nick
